Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement engineer

Our client, a company specialising in the development, design and manufacturing of sound-proof Powerlift partitions is presently searching for a Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement engineer.

Nature of position


Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Operations you will have as a mandate to ensure the development, the application and the management of the Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Process using the usual continuous Improvement Techniques (5S, Kaizen, 6 sigma, SMED, JIT, etc.). In addition, you will participate in the management of different projects in the plant (addition or modification of new equipments). You will see to:
  • Manage, develop and maintain the continuous improvement program using Lean Manufacturing tools;
  • Plan, implement and optimize the manufacturing processes with the plant manager and the department’s supervisors (Purchasing, Human Resources, R & D and others);
  • Realise the analysis of the unit cost and recommend the measures to ensure and maximize the cost savings;
  • Realise an action plan on the measures to be implemented with specific targets to obtain;
  • Act as a motivator and facilitator with the production and plant workers to ensure target’s aims;
  • Participate in the development of a training process and train the operational workers;
  • Realise the follow-up of the improvements made and compare with the targets;
  • Animate the work teams and the feedback groups;
  • Participate to the management of different investment projects (technical specifications, layouts, installations and modifications of equipment, etc.).

Required qualification

  • Bachelor degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Mastered the Lean Manufacturing tools;
  • Good experience in project management, continuous improvement process and problem solving process;
  • Functional bilingualism (English and French);
  • Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector.
