Our client, a consulting engineering firm specialized in engineering manufacturing plants in pharmaceutical, food processing, and related industrial sectors, is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager in Building Systems for its Montreal City office.

Nature of position

Working with the management of the Montreal City office, your mandate will be to manage and supervise all aspects of projects related to building systems and manufacturing systems and procedures mainly in the pharmaceutical and food processing sectors. Specific responsibilities include:

• Defining concepts, delegating tasks, and ensuring that quality standards meet project criteria;
• Establishing and defining various project objectives, in collaboration with clients;
• Planning, designing, coordinating, and scheduling, in detail, the phases of the project related to various building systems (ventilation, plumbing, and fire suppression) as well as the manufacturing systems and procedures in the pharmaceutical and food processing sectors;
• Controlling costs to assure completion of project within defined budget;
• Evaluating the choice and effectiveness of techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems in terms of meeting project objectives;
• Preparing and coordinating reports, conducting studies, and performing engineering calculations for a variety of projects;
• Determining deadlines and schedules, and planning human resource needs accordingly.

Required qualification

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in mechanical building services as a consulting engineer;
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
• Good working knowledge of written and oral English and French;
