Our client, a world leader in the design, development and fabrication of high-precision plastic injection molds for an international industrial clientele, is currently looking for a Plant Manager for its fabricating and prototyping plant.

Nature of position

Working directly under the President of the company, you will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing plant operations in their totality, including both process and quality control for the prototyping plant and to-order fabrication of various conventional and multicolor plastic injection molds, of their component parts, and of other component parts made to-order for clients.

• Efficiently managing human, material and financial resources in order to meet company objectives;
• Putting in place traceability and quality control systems;
• Planning and organizing the work of staff under your direction;
• Assuring that work performed by your team is in line with company objectives;
• Coordinating and deploying company resources to assure that clearly-defined objectives are met;
• Putting in place and overseeing follow-up procedures for all projects and tasks;
• Working in conjunction with management to draft and manage budgets, oversee expenses and control costs;
• Drafting action plans in order to improve productivity, overall effectiveness, and defect rate;
• Maintaining extremely high quality standards for finished products;
• Contributing to training and professional development initiatives for production staff;
• Maintaining relationships with clients and subcontractors in all matters pertaining to production;
• Ensuring that existing safety and security procedures are respected and maintaining a safe working environment at all times.

Required qualification

• Bachelor of Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, DEC (College Diploma) in industrial engineering with a specialization in Plastics Engineering Technology or other relevant concentration;
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience, including at least 3 in plastic injection molding;
• Familiarity with ISO 9001: 2000 standards;
• Bilingual: French and English, spoken and written);
• Management experience in the mass-production manufacturing sector and in managing subcontractors.
