Our client, a major Montreal institution with seven pavilions and structures, visited by more than 500,000 people annually, is currently looking for a Capital Projects Manager.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Exploitation, your main mandate will be to develop, plan, direct and control the development and upgrading of capital assets (buildings and equipment).

• Carry out calls for tenders and manage capital contracts, in collaboration with the departments and services concerned ;
• Provide consulting services to departments and internal teams on the management of calls for tenders, negotiations, as well as on the interpretation and management of contracts ;
• Develop, plan, direct and control capital asset development and upgrade activities ;
• Assist the general management in the elaboration of the strategy for the realization of major projects while respecting the financial resources, the schedules and the quality standards ;
• Ensure the quality of feasibility and technical studies up to the recommendation of the projects ;
• Carry out the reporting of subsidized projects and capitalized projects, as required ;
• Manage the financial, material and contractual resources inherent to its activities ;
• Carry out special projects ;
• Carry out every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

• University degree in real estate management, administration, architecture, engineering, or any other relevant training ;
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction project management ;
• Professional certification in project management (PMP) (an asset) ;
• Good knowledge of the museum or cultural field, government and municipal relations and related reporting (an asset) ;
• Experience in the use of the Electronic Tendering System (ETS) would be an asset ;
• Ability to manage multi-year and simultaneous projects ;
• Analytical, rigorous and leadership skills ;
• Good knowledge of computer systems (MS Office, MS Project) ;
• Mastery of spoken and written French and good knowledge of business English.
