Project Manager - Electrical Products

Our client, a major manufacturing company, a world leader in its sector, specialized in the design and manufacturing of industrial parts and equipment, is currently looking for a Project Manager - Electrical Products.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Engineering Coordinator, you will plan, organize and follow up on projects associated with the product lines assigned to you in collaboration with various stakeholders, including application specialists and sales employees. In addition, you will act as a technical specialist for the electrification product lines assigned to you. You will provide technical support to customers and suppliers, as well as research, design, development and analysis to develop or improve electrical products and assemblies in collaboration with the project teams. As such you will :

  • Configure electrification products and assemblies according to the requirements of the specifications. Communicate with suppliers to ensure that deliverables meet pre-established standards ;
  • Design the products, processes, tools and procedures required to benefit the division's electrification projects ;
  • Provide technical support to sales and conduct occasional visits to technology shows, customer visits and periodic visits to suppliers ;
  • Coordinate the files where its product lines predominate (light integration) ;
  • Conduct feasibility, design, operational and performance studies of new products and assemblies related to electrification. Recommend measures to improve product reliability. Design new or improve existing electrical and electromechanical systems ;
  • Participate in the profitability of manufacturing new parts and in the selection process of bids from different suppliers ;
  • Develop and maintain standards (norms or specific drawings) for the products (lines) under his responsibility and ensure their internal update and their distribution to the customer and / or supplier ;
  • Participate in the development of test benches, test procedures in collaboration with the test and prototyping technician and quality control ;
  • Program PLC, HMI (Human Machine Interface) for different mobile systems, communicating on CanOpen/CanBus networks ;
  • Program applications/macros for the optimization of test benches ;
  • Provide technical advice on customer feedback and complaints and commission studies on the properties and characteristics of materials and components, chemical and physical analytical studies, as part of failure investigation ;
  • Participate in the establishment of inspection plans ;
  • Carry out every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or DEC in electrical engineering, or other relevant training ;
  • Be a member in good standing of the OIQ (an asset) ;
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience ;
  • Knowledge in programming applications related to electrification projects (data acquisition, motor, controller, sensors and others) ;
  • Good knowledge of French and English, oral and written ;
  • Knowledge of the Office suite in order to write reports ;
  • Knowledge of sensors, controllers and instrumentation ;
  • Knowledge of simulation software such as LabView and MatLab ;
  • Knowledge of electrical power transmission systems (drivetrain).
