Storekeeper and Purchasing Clerk

Our client, an important company specializing in the manufacture of a polymer used in the production of packaging for the food industry, plastic films and fibers, is currently looking for a Storekeeper and Purchasing Clerk.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the maintenance planner, you will be responsible for maintaining the inventory of mechanical parts, electrical parts, occupational health and safety equipment, materials and equipment related to wastewater treatment and various elements related to the smooth operation of the plant. As such you will :

  • Manage the parts store and inventory ;
  • Evaluate criticality of parts and suggest which parts should be in stock ;
  • Determine required spare parts and equipment inventory based on production needs ;
  • Work closely with the maintenance team and provide all necessary materials and equipment ;
  • Purchase consumables ;
  • Receive and ship goods ;
  • Notify requesters when materials are received and arrange for their shipment, when required ;
  • Verify orders and proceed to the computerized reception ;
  • Label and store the merchandise in the appropriate storage location ;
  • Issue material releases to the ERP system ;
  • Coordinate non-contractual equipment activities ;
  • Create to the ERP system the parts inventoried ;
  • Performs cyclical stocktaking of inventoried parts ;
  • Ensure response to daily requests for the store ;
  • Create purchase requisitions in the ERP system (material and service) ;
  • Record and file PM's when completed ;
  • Perform invoice receipts in the ERP system ;
  • Perform invoice receipts in the ERP system ;
  • Master all required aspects of the ERP system related to maintenance ;
  • Ensure the availability of fuel for the fleet of vehicles used in the plant operations ;
  • Follow up on the required maintenance of the vehicle fleet with service providers ;
  • Carry out every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • Experience in a warehouse, supply, parts clerk position (an asset) ;
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience ;
  • Experience as a warehouse or industrial warehouse clerk ;
  • Excellent sense of urgency, planning and organization ;
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft and inventory management software ;
  • Functional bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written ;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
