Senior Project Manager - Civil Engineering

Our client, a consulting firm offering a wide range of services in environment, engineering and infrastructure construction, specializing in construction projects in the fields of wastewater optimization and treatment, contaminated soil remediation as well as water and riparian development, is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Business Improvement Manager - Engineering, your main mandate will be to manage urban and municipal infrastructure projects, understanding all stages of the project cycle and delegating and supervising the execution of the technical stages of the projects. You will have to collaborate with the clients and the contractor in order to carry out the follow-up, and put to contribution your great experience in civil engineering. As such, you will :

  • Ensure the management of the complete project and the technical component and supervise the execution of the steps ;
  • Follow up on clients, budgets, schedules and invoicing ;
  • Act as a technical resource during the execution of the work in conjunction with the site personnel and the contractor ;
  • Prepare service offers ;
  • Design projects in conjunction with the engineering and environmental teams or interact with colleagues from other teams to complete multi-disciplinary mandates ;
  • Prepare technical plans and specifications for various projects in accordance with established standards ;
  • Design and recommend the best applicable solution according to the clients' goals and objectives ;
  • Verify plans and specifications ;
  • Manage tenders ;
  • Coordinate post-construction phases of projects ;
  • Perform every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant experience ;
  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in project management ;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec ;
  • Fluency in French and functional English ;
  • Hold a valid driver's license ;
  • Hold the ASP Construction card ;
  • Leadership and excellent interpersonal skills ;
  • Knowledge of MS Project (an asset) ;
  • Experience with Ministère des Transports du Québec projects (an asset) ;
  • Knowledge of Ministère des Transports du Québec standards and documents (specifications, bills of quantities and schedules) (an asset).
