industrial engineer

Our client, a manufacturing company firmly established in Quebec for more than 65 years, specializing in the development and manufacture of products for the residential construction sector, is currently looking, for its state-of-the-art plant, for a an industrial engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Industrial Engineering and Quality Director, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and improvement of programs and strategies aimed at optimizing operational efficiency, through better use of human resources, material , technologies and manufacturing processes. As such you will see:

  • Design and implement efficient manufacturing processes using industrial engineering tools, methodologies such as Lean / Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement principles;
  • Analyze current workflows, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then propose solutions to resolve them;
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth execution of operations, resolve operational issues and minimize downtime;
  • Contribute to the design and installation of new equipment and production lines, ensuring that they meet quality and safety standards;
  • Participate in production planning, optimizing the use of resources, labor planning and inventory management;
  • Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate process performance, and take corrective action when necessary;
  • Participate in the resolution of complex problems related to production, by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions;
  • Train staff on new processes and best practices, and follow up to ensure their correct implementation;
  • Manage continuous improvement projects related to manufacturing processes, coordinating the necessary resources and meeting deadlines;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new product models in collaboration with the R&D team and other support teams;
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or other relevant training in engineering;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector;
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma principles and Continuous Improvement Methodologies;
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite and ERP-type software;
  • Knowledge of new production methods;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Solid Edge (an asset).
