Plant manager

Our client, a major producer of chemical products for the industrial sector, renowned for its innovative and constantly developing solutions, is currently looking for a Plant Manager.

Nature of position

Under the responsibility of the President and CEO, your main mandate will be to establish the company's performance standards and achieve the established objectives by developing an action plan that respects business processes as well as the best manufacturing practices. Your primary responsibility will be to plan, organize, direct and control all operations. In addition, you will oversee operations related to production, operational quality, technical support and the supply chain by ensuring that health and safety are respected by all. As a result, you will help achieve the company's business objectives by positively influencing the adoption of healthy and safe behaviors, operating costs, performance, and production capacity and quality. As such you will see:

  • Ensuring the motivation, orientation and direction of personnel in all plant activities;
  • Manage and approve expenditures and financial controls;
  • Supervise production, maintenance and engineering, OHS and supply chain activities through your direct reports;
  • Require and create a healthy and safe work environment for all employees and promote sound health management by establishing and monitoring OHS priorities;
  • Ensure the implementation of standardized best practices in all areas of activity;
  • Establish performance standards in accordance with the business plan, objectives and compliance with the established budget;
  • Collaborate in the implementation of optimization and investment projects;
  • Ensure skills development and manage the performance of your team members;
  • Surround yourself with a competent, complementary and committed team;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring the delivery of products on time;
  • Ensure site compliance with federal, provincial and municipal regulatory requirements;
  • Manage and mobilize human resources based on corporate values and business strategy;
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or any relevant discipline;
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector;
  • Experience in personnel management or have strong management skills;
  • Demonstrate strong mobilizing leadership and a spirit of collaboration that inspires and mobilizes teams;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Demonstrate an interest in innovation and investing in the company as well as demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and sustain a customer-focused culture;
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
