Our client, a leader in its sector of activity, specializing in the design, manufacturing and installation of automated equipment for the manufacturing sector is currently looking for an engineer in electrical design.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the department manager and within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for carrying out the electrical design of the equipment as well as the parts lists, order specifications and production drawings. In addition, you will participate in the execution and completion of automation projects. As such you will see to:
- Design control panels and electrical networks for robotic systems and automated equipment, in conjunction with the robotics and control as well as mechanical engineering groups;
- Prepare electrical plans, material lists, control panel drawings, and select commercial components;
- Design electrical equipment by applying good engineering practices as well as current international standards;
- Design electrical systems using AutoCAD Electrical software;
- Prepare system documentation for the workshop and installation;
- Assist and support workshop technicians during the system assembly and testing phase;
- Remotely support installation and start-up teams at customers’ premises;
- Occasionnellement, participer aux installations et aux démarrages des systèmes chez les clients;
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.
Required qualification
- Baccalauréat en génie électrique, en génie de la production automatisée ou autre formation pertinente en génie ;
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec ;
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in electrical design;
- Experience in designing automated/industrial equipment;
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, SEE Electrical or similar design software as well as the Microsoft Office Suite;
- Bilingualism (French and English spoken and written);
- Available to travel abroad on occasion.
