Electrical Engineer - Reliability

Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of chemical products for industrial markets. With facilities worldwide, our client is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer - Reliability for its plant located in the Center-du-Québec region.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, your main responsibility will be to support the upkeep of electrical and instrumentation components on site to ensure maximum equipment availability. Additionally, you will also be required to assist the team in executing maintenance projects at the plant. In this capacity, you will be responsible for:

  • Identify the causes of failures, formulate recommendations, and coordinate the implementation of solutions.
  • Participate in the analysis and identification of improvement opportunities in the electrical/instrumentation field.
  • Contribute to the review of risk analyses (PHA) and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Prepare and review justifications and documentation required for equipment and facility modification process controls.
  • Design, validate, and organize preventive maintenance processes.
  • Ensure equipment compliance and update E/I engineering standards.
  • Act as a technical reference for the plant and the technician team.
  • Plan and coordinate electrical work during maintenance shutdowns and for other improvement or maintenance projects.
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong time management skills, action-oriented, capable of planning and executing work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at multitasking and follow-ups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), video conferencing software.
  • Functional bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written). Given that the company's headquarters and several other plants are located in the United States, you will be required to communicate frequently in English.
  • Previous experience in the chemical industry or heavy industry is an asset.
