Our client, a company specializing in the sale, maintenance, repair and modernization of industrial equipment, is currently looking for an electrical engineer for its facilities in the Quebec region.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Engineering manager, your main mandate will be to carry out the design, planning, study, evaluation, testing and, if necessary, commissioning of the equipment. As such you will see:
- Carry out sizing and design work on various electrical systems (power, control and automation) intended for industrial equipment;
- Modernize, optimize and ensure normative compliance of electrical installations on various industrial equipment ;
- Research electrical components available locally in order to validate the replacement of obsolete components ;
- Technically and punctually supervise the work of electrical designer technicians depending on their involvement in the projects ;
- Provide technical support to suppliers and offer technical support to internal and external customers;
- Actively participate in the development of the engineering department by improving tools and methods;
- Carry out equipment start-up work in the workshop and factory;
- Participate in the preparation of offers by developing preliminary concepts, estimating the study hours required and writing technical descriptions of the proposed solutions;
- Manage small projects (quality monitoring, deadlines and costs);
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.
Required qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ;
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and standards relating to machine safety, in particular CSA Z432;
- Hold a valid class 5 driving license;
- General health and safety courses on construction sites;
- Knowledge of Rockwell's Studio 5000 (RsLogix) and Factory Talk View PLC programming software and/or CCW, Zélio Soft and VMware Workstation software will be considered an asset.
