Quality control inspector

Our client, a solidly established company specializing in the development and manufacture of a diversified range of electrical equipment, is currently looking for a quality control inspector to continue its growth.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the quality manager, you will be responsible for ensuring quality control, from the receipt of parts and components to the delivery of equipment manufactured in the factory. You will also need to have a good understanding of the production process / plant design in order to be able to suggest improvements to the quality control mechanisms currently in place. As such, you will see:

  • Inspect and verify the main parts and components received according to the drawings and standards determined by engineering and document everything;
  • Write non-conformity reports and communicate the content with the various suppliers, if necessary;
  • Ensure the implementation and follow-up on corrective action requests related to the product in order to reduce the costs of non-compliance;
  • If necessary, in cases of repetitive non-compliance, provide training aimed at resolving the problem;
  • Get involved in the performance of internal audits;
  • Work together with the various stakeholders of the company to analyze the quality of the products manufactured;
  • Intervene directly with the various managers to solve problems associated with quality control;
  • Participate in the approval of new suppliers and new materials to be used;
  • Propose, suggest and write procedures and work methods likely to meet quality requirements that may differ from client to client;
  • Produce various statistical reports as well as see to the archiving of documents;
  • If necessary, replace the other Quality Control Inspectors of the team;
  • Occasionally carry out inspection and control activities on customer or supplier sites;
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.

Required qualification

  • Diploma related to the mechanical, electrical and/or manufacturing fields or any other relevant training;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control in the manufacturing sector;
  • Experience in the field of electrical and/or high voltage equipment will be considered an asset;
  • Ability to understand design drawings;
  • Functional bilingualism (French / English both written and spoken);
  • Skills for both verbal and written communication;
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft environment of Word and Excel software for writing technical reports;
  • Sense of organization, good ability to carry out follow-ups, analytical and synthetic skills, team spirit, ease of adaptation, autonomy, resourcefulness as well as a marked orientation for customer service and respect timelines.
