Technician - Information and Innovation Department

Our client, a company whose mission is to manage, operate and maintain various transport infrastructures, whose activities are divided into engineering, construction and maintenance operations is currently looking for, in order to pursue improving the quality and efficiency of its services, a technician for the asset information and innovation department.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Asset Information and Innovation, you provide support to implement the company's asset information management strategy, which is supported by several technological tools already in place, such as geographic information systems (Geomatics), computer-aided maintenance management system (CMMS) and other tools to come, notably those of the “Building Information Modeling” (BIM) type. In the context of digital transformation, you actively participate in scenario analysis with a view to integrating asset information into existing tools. As such, you will see to:

  • Provides technical expertise to implement the Company's asset information management strategy, which is supported by several technological tools already in place, such as geolocation system (Geomatics), maintenance management system computer-assisted (CMMS), electronic document management (EDM) system, and other tools to come, including those such as “Buiding Information Modeling” (BIM) and reporting and modeling tools;
  • In collaboration with internal business partners as well as the Information Resources and Project Support and Continuous Improvement departments, acts as super user in geomatics, proposes and applies processes and workflows related to the information management system assets and submits them for approval;
  • In collaboration with the senior Asset Information engineer and the Information Resources department, examines the different technological solutions for asset information management, participates in the analysis of scenarios with a view to integrating asset information active in existing tools, and in the addition of a new tool and/or system if required, carries out tests during the development of new solutions;
  • Supports change management, including implementing asset information management plans (especially established processes and workflows), promoting, training and supporting users of technology tools for implementation asset information management plans as well as resolving any issues encountered;
  • In collaboration with the Information Resources team, provides technical expertise to verify the quality, integrity and compliance of information entered into asset information management systems;
  • Performs data monitoring and control (internal process audits) to ensure that data management is carried out in accordance with the physical asset inventory management process (in development) as well as the asset management plans. asset information (PGIA);
  • Ensures that data related to assets is entered and stored in corporate technological solutions and, following its analysis, takes the required actions when deviations are noted in relation to the asset information management plan;
  • Provides support and communicates to management when technical issues are noted relating to the implementation of asset information management plans and proposes the measures required to resolve them;
  • Collaborates with external consultants to develop and implement physical asset inventory digitization and asset information management plans.

Required qualification

  • Hold a college diploma in civil engineering, geomatics, building information modeling, architecture or a relevant and equivalent set of education, training and experience;
  • Have a minimum of eight years of relevant experience;
  • Have a good knowledge of geomatics and master the ArcGIS technological tool;
  • Good knowledge of the REVIT technological tool or other 3D modeling tool;
  • Basic knowledge of the Maximo technological tool;
  • Master Autocad software for computer-aided drawing (CAD);
  • Master the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and Outlook);
  • Have a good understanding and interpretation of plans and technical drawings;
  • Demonstrate skills in writing documents and reports;
  • Knowledge of infrastructure data modeling (BIM) processes is an important asset;
  • Demonstrate initiative, rigor, good ability to adapt to new concepts and demonstrate good organizational skills.
