Technical support specialist/project manager (control and electronics)

Our client, a company that specializes in the distribution of mechanical and hydraulic power transmission equipment, is currently looking for a technical support specialist/project manager (control and electronics).

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of the Engineering Department, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the control and electronic aspects of various products/projects in addition to project management. As such you will :

  • Provide technical support for electrical, electronic, instrumentation and control panels for industrial diesel engine electronic / ECU version ;
  • Diagnose and solve electrical and electronic problems (instrumentation and control) ;
  • Perform control panel programming for industrial engines and generators ;
  • Provide technical support, by phone or in person, on instrumentation and control panel range ;
  • Develop specification sheets for generators ;
  • Develop component list (BOM) and time allocation for the production of various assembled product lines and power units (value added products) by the company ;
  • Plan and organize the assembly of projects by producing specifications and follow up on production projects in the workshop ;
  • Follow up and manage projects in order to respect deadlines, costs and specifications of value-added products produced by the company ;
  • Assist the shop floor with testing and quality control ;
  • Follow up with the engineering departments with the company's manufacturers ;
  • Participate in the weekly project meeting ;
  • Manage the technical data library ;

Required qualification

  • DEC, AEC, DEP or ASP in electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or automation and control or other relevant training ;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience ;
  • Good knowledge of electricity and electronics (instrumentation and control) ;
  • Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team ;
  • Good interpersonal skills ;
  • Functional bilingualism (French and English spoken and written).
