Project Manager (Civil Engineering Works)

Our client, a leader in the construction industry specializing in civil engineering works, structures, infrastructure, and municipal services, and recognized for its expertise and commitment to the environment, is currently seeking a Project Manager.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Senior Project Director and/or Project Director, you will be responsible for the administrative aspects of construction projects. You will serve as a liaison between the company and the client, provide the material resources required for contract execution, and assist superintendents and foremen in coordinating project progress. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and training assistant project managers;
  • Preparing construction files;
  • Managing the administrative aspects of construction projects;
  • Overseeing health, safety, and environmental management on projects;
  • Communicating relevant information to the foreman;
  • Requesting quotes, negotiating agreements, and ordering materials;
  • Establishing work methods and procedures, as well as traffic control plans;
  • Preparing, verifying, and submitting requests for additional work;
  • Finalizing payment requests and overseeing contract invoicing;
  • Preparing profitability analyses for review by the director;
  • Resolving site disputes within the scope of your responsibilities and authority;
  • Closing and archiving projects;
  • Actively contributing, through your attitude and behavior, to developing and maintaining a respectful, harmonious, and stimulating work environment for all;
  • Collaborating with colleagues and promoting teamwork;
  • Working in alignment with the company’s culture and values;
  • Performing any other tasks related to your role.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or any other relevant education (additional experience may compensate for the lack of a required degree);
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering project management;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (an asset);
  • ASP Construction certification card;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software;
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership, and a willingness to learn.
