Our client, a leader in its field, specializing in the design, manufacturing, and sale of equipment intended for companies in the public, municipal, petroleum, and construction sectors, is currently seeking a Mechanical, Hydraulic and Controls Designer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Engineering Director, your main responsibility will be to design the mechanical systems of various pieces of equipment in collaboration with the engineering and sales teams. You will also perform engineering calculations, select components, and participate in improvement projects. As such, you will be responsible for:

• Performing engineering calculations related to power transmission for driving vacuum pumps, water pumps, and air compressors;
• Designing hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum and water;
• Selecting key components for a project: drive shafts, clutches, gearboxes, etc.;
• Carrying out preliminary and detailed design during the different phases of a project;
• Creating diagrams used by the production team for assembling the different systems;
• Collaborating with design engineers during the technical specification handover;
• Participating in improvement projects and validating the feasibility of new concepts;
• Communicate with suppliers for the selection of specific components ;
• Supporting production and service teams in resolving issues;
• Performing any other duties compatible with your role.

Required qualification

• Relevant experience in hydraulic and pneumatic system design;
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work;
• Ability to estimate the time required to complete a task and meet deadlines.
