Our client, a manufacturing company specializing in the production of parts for the automotive sector and serving clients in North America, Europe, and Asia, is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter for its state-of-the-art facilities.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Engineering Coordinator, your primary mandate will be to contribute to the continuous improvement and optimization of production equipment in order to enhance the efficiency of the company's various departments. In this role, you will:

• Propose changes and modifications to improve production equipment;
• Develop and prepare 3D models and engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, and other data;
• Assemble and test new equipment concepts, tooling, and prototypes while meeting scheduled deadlines;
• Act as a liaison between external equipment suppliers and processes to improve productivity;
• Participate in training employees on equipment, adjustments, and procedures;
• Perform any other tasks related to your role.

Required qualification

• College diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering, vocational diploma (DEP) in Industrial Drafting, or other relevant training;
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;
• Good knowledge of SolidWorks software (an asset);
• Experience with machine tools / machining (an asset);
• Proficiency with common computer tools.
