Our client, a company specializing in electricity, energy, automation, and civil engineering, offering tailor-made solutions adapted to the specific needs of each client, is currently seeking an Electrical and Automation Estimator.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Engineering Director, your main responsibility will be to analyze plans, specifications, and tender documents in order to accurately assess the costs related to electrical projects. You will prepare detailed and competitive estimates and occasionally participate in the management of various assigned projects. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Evaluating tenders in terms of materials, labor, and time;
• Analyzing the various clauses of the contract;
• Visiting sites to assess the scope of the work;
• Assessing the potential profitability of the project being bid on;
• Preparing bids according to plans and specifications;
• Scheduling meetings with clients and evaluating the work to be done;
• Monitoring costs and project progress at regular intervals;
• Analyzing and estimating the impact of change notices;
• Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project coordination and compliance;
• Anticipating potential risks;
• Comparing bids with those of competitors;
• Participating in project management;
• Supporting other estimators in their tasks;
• Performing any other duties related to the role.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree or DEC in Electrical Engineering or a combination of relevant training and experience;
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience;
• In-depth knowledge of industrial automation and/or industrial electricity;
• Proficiency in French, both spoken and written;
• Strong analytical and judgment skills
• Knowledge of estimation and procurement processes.
