Technical Sales Representative

Our client, an international company specialized in the design, manufacturing, and sale of materials resistant to high temperatures for industrial applications, and positioned among the global leaders in its sector, is currently seeking a Technical Sales Representative.

Nature of position

Reporting to the Sales Director, your main responsibility will be to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in your territory. Your role will focus on driving business growth by offering technical solutions tailored to customer needs, in collaboration with the Sales Director and the company's manufacturing plants. Additionally, leveraging the expertise developed in aluminum manufacturing processes, you will act as a liaison between clients and technical teams to ensure the effective implementation of proposed solutions. In this capacity, your duties will include:

  • Advising and supporting clients by thoroughly understanding their needs and adapting products to their processes;
  • Proposing innovative solutions to clients and contributing to their development;
  • Meeting objectives established jointly with the Sales Director;
  • Defining sales budgets and ensuring their growth;
  • Monitoring the sales of products regularly purchased by clients;
  • Regularly visiting clients to maintain trust-based business relationships;
  • Promoting new products and services / identifying new sales opportunities;
  • Developing products specifically tailored to customer needs;
  • Responding to client inquiries about products and services;
  • Contributing to the expansion of the company's product range through creativity;
  • Collaborating with the R&D center on the development of new product lines;
  • Monitoring market trends and developments;
  • Providing technical support to the plant in the manufacturing process, when needed;
  • Promoting and implementing the conditions required for customer satisfaction;
  • Identifying competing products from other companies to ensure the best market pricing;
  • Assisting project managers in the execution of engineering projects;
  • Presenting performance improvement projects;
  • Maintaining and updating professional and technical knowledge through internal or external training;
  • Keeping client records up to date using tools provided by the company;
  • Performing any other tasks compatible with your role.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant training;
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written (advanced English is essential for this position, as it facilitates communication with a diverse range of partners);
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in technical consulting or technical sales/representation will be considered a strong asset;
  • Excellent communication and technical simplification skills;
  • Ability to build and maintain trusting customer relationships;
  • Proactive and positive attitude in solving client problems;
  • Willingness to travel and possession of a valid driver's license;
  • Experience in the aluminum industry or metallurgical processes (an asset);
  • Knowledge of sales management software (CRM) is an asset.
