Biogas Management Technician

Our client, a company providing technologies, solutions, and engineering services in the fields of industrial air pollution control, landfill gas, coal mine methane, and waste-to-energy recovery—while also being a fully integrated international developer of greenhouse gas emission reduction projects—is currently seeking a Technician.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Technical Coordinator, you will take part in the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of biogas collection and treatment systems from landfill sites. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting environmental monitoring of biogas at the surface and in the soil of landfill sites;
  • Operating and maintaining collection networks, flares, and combustion units;
  • Participating in the construction and modification of collection networks, including pipe thermo-fusion work;
  • Effectuer l'échantillonnage dans le sol autour d'anciens sites afin d'assurer la sécurité des citoyens environnants ;
  • Supervising the installation of methane mitigation systems at private residences and businesses;
  • Documenting, analyzing, and processing sampling results;
  • Writing field logs and technical reports;
  • Calibrating and maintaining environmental measuring instruments and ensuring they function properly;
  • Contributing to research and development projects within the Biogas division;
  • Occasionally supporting the Air division on industrial sanitation projects: construction, commissioning, operations, quality inspections, and post-sale follow-ups;
  • Performing any other tasks compatible with your role.

Required qualification

  • DEC in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Wildlife Management, or any other relevant field (water treatment, soil or air analysis, geology, forestry, industrial mechanics, etc.);
  • No prior experience required (full training provided);
  • Experience in the biogas sector or a related field is an asset;
  • Good physical stamina and willingness to work outdoors in all seasons;
  • Ability to write clear reports with strong analytical and synthesis skills;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Drone pilot license: an asset;
  • Excellent command of French and intermediate-level English;
  • Manual skills for various technical tasks;
  • Practical knowledge of the MS Office suite.
