Senior Project Manager (Building Construction)
Our client, a Canadian company offering construction and infrastructure services and positioned among the leaders in its field, is active in numerous sectors such as commercial and public buildings, civil infrastructure, healthcare, education, industrial, residential, and more. The company is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager.
Nature of position
Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing major building projects. You will oversee all activities related to budgeting, scheduling, work quality, and the management of internal and external teams. As the lead coordinator, you will optimize resources, maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers, and ensure that projects meet the highest industry standards. In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing all aspects of construction, from pre-construction to completion, including design, coordination, budgeting, and scheduling, in collaboration with the Superintendent;
- Prepare regular, timely, and accurate invoices for clients, and ensure prompt payment of subcontractor invoices;
- Meet with clients and architects professionally and be able to effectively communicate the company's core concerns and interests;
- Monitor, understand, and forecast project cost reports to ensure alignment with the estimate and maintain positive cash flow;
- Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to track and support the ongoing development and progress of the team;
- Submit project reports to the regional manager and communicate project progress and risk areas to management as needed;
- Perform any other duties consistent with your role.
Required qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, a college diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture, or any other relevant training;
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in building project management;
- Bilingual in French and English (fluency in English is essential for this position, as it facilitates communication with a diverse range of partners);
- Experience in managing historic building projects will be considered an asset;
- Knowledge of construction laws and regulations in Quebec.
