Process Engineer
Our client is a well-established industrial company located in the Québec region. Known for its innovative solutions and continuous growth, the company is looking to hire a Process Engineer to support the optimization and evolution of its operations.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, you will be at the heart of industrial innovation. Your mission will be to design, plan, and lead process improvement projects to optimize the plant's performance, quality, and productivity. You will collaborate with all departments to ensure efficient and safe operations while contributing to the plant's ongoing transformation. As such, you will:
- Lead ambitious projects by driving improvement and investment initiatives to meet performance, quality, and production targets, while conducting relevant profitability analyses;
- Innovate and transform by identifying improvement opportunities and proposing creative and feasible solutions;
- Participate in the design, installation, and optimization of new industrial equipment;
- Strive for excellence by engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, losses, and operating costs;
- Collaborate and share by fostering synergy between teams (production, maintenance, quality, HSE, etc.) and contributing to technical staff training;
- Monitor and integrate by staying up to date with technological innovations, new methods and/or technologies in our processes;
- Support performance by contributing to any initiatives aimed at improving process efficiency and collective success;
- Perform any other tasks related to the responsibilities of the position.
Required qualification
- Bachelor gegree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or any discipline relevant to industrial processes;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector;
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Experience in team management or coaching will be considered an asset;
- Knowledge of industrial processes, thermodynamic principles, and unit operations (an asset);
- Good understanding of continuous improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen);
- Proficiency in design and modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Aspen, etc.);
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and technology tools (ERP);
- Functional English, both spoken and written, as you will need to communicate in English with colleagues from the sister plant in India.
