Our client, a manufacturing company specializing in the production of parts for the automotive sector and serving clients in North America, Europe, and Asia, is currently seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Designer (Projects and Manufacturing Support) for its state-of-the-art facilities.

Nature of position

Reporting to the Engineering Coordinator, your main responsibility will be to contribute to both technical design and implementation on the production floor. In addition to producing technical drawings, you will be involved in the installation, testing, and improvement of both existing and new manufacturing equipment, working closely with the engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Producing, modifying, and updating technical drawings (2D and/or 3D) related to equipment, facilities, and manufacturing projects;
• Participating in the installation of new equipment and its integration on the production floor;
• Providing technical support during the modification, improvement, or optimization of existing equipment;
• Conducting floor measurements to ensure the accuracy of drawings and proposed solutions;
• Working closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams;
• Participating in training employees on equipment, adjustments, and procedures;
• Documenting technical changes and ensuring associated documentation is kept up to date;
• Performing any other duties consistent with your role.

Required qualification

• DEC in Mechanical Engineering, DEP in Industrial Drafting, or other relevant training;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
• Good knowledge of SolidWorks (an asset);
• Experience with machine tools / machining (an asset);
• Proficiency with standard computer tools.
