Service Technician (Medical Technologies)

Our client, a leading provider of clinical diagnostic solutions, is currently seeking a Service Technician to primarily cover the Montreal and Québec City regions.

Nature of position

Reporting to the National Service Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to medical diagnostic instruments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Represent the company with professionalism and confidence when interacting with clients, suppliers, and within the company's industry sector (competitors, industry representatives, etc.);
  • Work as a member of the product support and applications team to assist existing customers with technical support and troubleshooting for key instruments;
  • Provide prompt responses by phone and on-site to assigned service calls;
  • Perform service interventions that ensure work is completed thoroughly while minimizing customer downtime;
  • Deliver effective customer support within the assigned geographic territory and provide technical support in other territories when required;
  • Provide additional assistance and troubleshooting for emergency hotline calls;
  • Maintain and update instrument validation checklists;
  • Assist with the installation of new instruments;
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance and warranty inspections;
  • Manage parts inventory;
  • Help ensure AX and SharePoint software systems remain accurate and up to date;
  • Perform any other duties related to the position.

Required qualification

  • DEC in Biomedical Electronics or any other relevant training;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical technology, medical services, or other related fields;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX and SharePoint (an asset);
  • Advanced level of English, both spoken and written, in order to collaborate with English-speaking colleagues;
  • Mechanical and electronic expertise (an asset).
