Engineer - Sales Representative (HVAC)
Our client, a Canadian manufacturer's representative operating in the HVAC sector, collaborating with several of the industry's largest manufacturers to support consulting engineering firms and mechanical contractors in the design, selection, and integration of high-performance mechanical systems, is currently seeking an Engineer, Sales Representative for the Greater Montreal area and Quebec.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Sales Director, you will be responsible for developing the company's business in Quebec and establishing strong relationships with key industry stakeholders. You will also be responsible for implementing sales strategies to achieve sales targets while ensuring customer satisfaction. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the growth of a regional presence, with the support of a recognized Canadian manufacturing partner and an experienced team. In this role, you will:
- Develop the company's business and establish lasting relationships with consulting engineering firms, mechanical contractors, and owners/developers;
- Meet with consulting engineering firms and other clients to promote the company's products and have them specified;
- Support consulting engineers in the selection of equipment;
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities;
- Prepare estimates and cost calculations for mechanical projects (bids);
- Implement strategies and action plans to achieve targeted sales objectives;
- Negotiate with mechanical contractors;
- Follow up on awarded tenders, including contract review, preparation of technical documents, site visits, and coordination with clients and partners;
- Participate in various project stages, from design through start-up and commissioning of equipment;
- Produce sales activity reports and ensure updates in the CRM;
- Analyze and report customer feedback for continuous market improvement;
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.
Required qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred);
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain lasting professional relationships;
- Good knowledge of the HVAC sector and its competitive environment;
- Strong technical skills and experience in a client-focused role;
- Valid driver's license;
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written;
- Availability for occasional travel within Canada and the United States;
- Ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating autonomy.
