Our client, a leader in the field of naval engineering with a strong presence in the Québec region, is currently seeking a Barge Designer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Engineering Director, your primary mandate will be to design barges in accordance with client specifications and requirements. In this role, you will:

• Participate in the design of barges used to deploy equipment such as cranes, drilling rigs, aerial platforms, and more;
• Perform barge stability calculations to ensure the safety of client operations;
• Participer à la résolution de problèmes techniques soumis par les clients ;
• Propose and validate innovative and resourceful solutions;
• Participate in discussions with clients;
• Perform structural and mechanical verifications of barges and their fastening or support components;
• Contribute to the improvement of tools used for the work;
• Perform any other tasks related to the responsibilities of the position.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
• Minimum of 2 years of design experience;
• Proficiency in French and English (English language skills are preferred for this position to ensure effective communication with clients and partners).
