Network and Systems Administrator
Our client, a manufacturing company firmly established in Quebec for over 65 years and specializing in the development and manufacturing of products for the residential construction sector, is currently seeking a Network and Systems Administrator for its state-of-the-art facility.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Director of Information and Communications Technology, your primary mandate will be to manage the company's systems and networks, respond to various user requests, and ensure the security of all environments. In this role, you will:
- Provide daily IT support to employees on site, working remotely, as well as to retailers;
- Manage computer hardware, including tracking equipment and spare parts;
- Implement, administer, and maintain network infrastructure, servers, workstations, and the software used;
- Deploy and support technology environments related to manufacturing operations, including ERP systems;
- Oversee the administration and proper functioning of SAN storage solutions;
- Ensure optimal configuration and performance of telecommunication systems;
- Manage backup mechanisms and ensure their effectiveness;
- Administer key components of the Windows ecosystem, such as Active Directory, GPO policies, Hybrid Exchange, Office 365, Windows servers (2016 to 2022), and Hyper-V virtual machines;
- Monitor databases, internet browsing activities, and email services;
- Provide training to users on the use of computer equipment and applications;
- Conduct in-depth analysis of complex incidents and propose improvement opportunities to optimize systems;
- Manage network equipment such as VLAN switches, firewalls, VPN connections, and antivirus solutions;
- Write and update documentation for internal and external processes;
- Develop and update IT-related procedures;
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.
Required qualification
- DEP in IT Support, AEC in Information Technology, or other relevant training;
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;
- Experience working in an environment with more than 40 PCs or other relevant experience deemed equivalent;
- Knowledge of Microsoft network environments (Active Directory), Entra, and Intune;
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
- Knowledge of Hyper-V (an asset);
- Experience in IT security;
- Enjoy providing user support and have a strong focus on customer satisfaction;
- A teaching-oriented attitude to educate users on IT security principles;
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
