Mechanical Engineer - Reliability

Our client is a global leader in manufacturing chemicals for industrial markets. With facilities worldwide, our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Reliability for its plant located in the Center-du-Québec region.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, your main responsibility will be to support the upkeep of fixed and rotating equipment on site to ensure maximum equipment availability. Additionally, you will participate in the continuous development of the plant's maintenance system. In this capacity, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead initiatives for failure analysis and identify improvement opportunities in the mechanical domain.
  • Develop recommendations for inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Supervise various projects for equipment and mechanical component replacements.
  • Provide technical expertise to the maintenance department and support corrective interventions.
  • Manage the maintenance and improvement of the preventive maintenance program and equipment database.
  • Ensure equipment compliance with corporate standards and applicable regulations.
  • Take corrective actions necessary following standard changes or audits.
  • Monitor the progress of ongoing maintenance projects and ensure they proceed in a compliant and safe manner.
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent discipline.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong time management skills, action-oriented, capable of planning and executing work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at multitasking and follow-ups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), video conferencing software.
  • Functional bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written). Given that the company's headquarters and several other plants are located in the United States, you will be required to communicate frequently in English.
  • Previous experience in the chemical industry or heavy industry is an asset.
