Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of chemicals for industrial markets. With facilities around the world, our client is currently looking for a process engineer for its factory located in Centre-du-Québec.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the production manager, your main mandate will be to support the operation and supervision of the production department in order to ensure the monitoring of the process and the production team in order to meet the operating parameters, of established quality and safety. As such you will see to:
- Act as a technical resource within the department for the operation of the process and reactions;
- Responsible for the analysis and diagnosis of operating problems;
- Carry out testing and control of process and optimization adjustments;
- Develop operating procedures and update them;
- Implement operating or health and safety procedures with your team;
- Ensure monitoring of ongoing improvement or maintenance projects in the sector;
- Carry out analysis and documentation related to modification requests;
- Direct the qualification process of operators in its sector;
- Supervise the processes of locking out and releasing equipment;
- Coordinate equipment repair and replacement priorities with the maintenance department;
- Supervise the team of process operators;
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.
Required qualification
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology engineering, mechanical engineering or an equivalent discipline;
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience;
- Good time management, action-oriented, ability to plan and carry out work independently;
- Strong communication and follow-up skills, able to manage several files simultaneously;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), videoconferencing software;
- Functional bilingualism (French and English spoken and written). As the company's head office and several other factories are located in the United States, you will frequently have to communicate in English;
- Prior experience in the chemical industry or heavy industry is an asset.
