Structural Engineer

Our client, a consulting engineering firm firmly established in Quebec for more than 20 years, carrying out projects in infrastructure, buildings, industrial, construction, transportation, water treatment, and the environment, is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to support its continued growth.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Structural Director, your main mandate will be to actively participate in the execution of various projects, ranging from the design of plans to the planning of construction projects. The structural team works on a wide range of interesting projects, both small and large in scale. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring technical design and project management;
  • Supporting the team of technicians/drafters in carrying out various projects, including design and construction;
  • Coordinating projects and communicating with external stakeholders;
  • Coordinating projects with the various internal engineering disciplines, including process, building mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering;
  • Meeting fee budgets and deliverable deadlines;
  • Ensuring the quality of deliverables in accordance with the firm's standards and applicable codes and standards;
  • Identifying client needs and seeking innovative solutions;
  • Supervising work both from the office and on-site;
  • Performing any other duties compatible with your role.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline;
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a consulting engineering firm;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Experience in design using structural analysis software, such as SAFI and others;
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NBC-QCC, S16, A23.1, A23.3, O86, and others;
  • Valid driver's licence and ASP Construction card.
