Project engineer (water treatment)

Our client, a company specializing in water and wastewater treatment solutions for industrial and municipal clients, is currently looking for a Project engineer.

Nature of position

Under the responsibility of the execution engineering supervisor, you will be responsible for validating designs and carrying out the engineering of projects within the deadlines and costs set by the company. In addition, you will work in coordination with the project teams for the realization of equipment and water treatment plant projects. As such you will :

  • Specify technical requirements of products with suppliers ;
  • Establish an engineering plan at the beginning of the project to plan deliverables, schedule, resources and control project risks ;
  • Define supply limits for installing contractors ;
  • Specify interconnecting piping ;
  • Prepare and coordinate: P&IDs, general plant layout drawings and technology component installation and fabrication drawings with the drafting/design team ;
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for compliance with technical requirements, schedules and budgets ;
  • Approve and release technical requirements to the Project Manager to establish purchase orders ;
  • Prepare engineering lists (equipment list, valves, instruments, etc.) ;
  • Support the process and bid team in the preparation of bids ;
  • Support the commissioning team in the preparation of commissioning documents ;
  • Perform project feedback according to company practices ;
  • Participate in the design of the company's technologies ;
  • Carry out every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, environmental, water engineering or other relevant education ;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience ;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec ;
  • Knowledge of water treatment equipment and processes ;
  • Basic knowledge of control systems used in water treatment (an asset) ;
  • Knowledge of Gsuite (Gmail, Google Doc, Google sheet, etc.) ;
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office software ;
  • Functional bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written).
