Project Manager – Biogas and Geoenvironment

Our client, a company specialized in the development of technologies, solutions, and engineering services in the sectors of industrial air pollution control, landfill gas, coal mine methane, and waste-to-energy recovery, is also a fully integrated international developer of greenhouse gas emission reduction projects. As part of its growth, the company is currently seeking a Project Manager – Biogas and Geoenvironment to contribute to the execution, coordination, and monitoring of environmental and technical projects related to biogas, gas capture and treatment operations, and the environmental management of sites.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Division Director, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of projects related to biogas and geoenvironmental activities. You will contribute to the technical quality of deliverables, adherence to schedules, budget monitoring, and the maintenance of effective relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors, laboratories, and regulatory authorities. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting and analyzing data from sampling campaigns, particularly for water and biogas;
  • Preparing various technical reports, including environmental monitoring reports, operational reports, environmental authorization requests or follow-ups, and technical recommendations;
  • Ensuring the quality, rigor, technical consistency, and clarity of produced deliverables;
  • Planning, coordinating, and monitoring contractual schedules, deliverables, budgets, and quality of work;
  • Participating in the planning, coordination, and supervision of sampling campaigns, inspections, calibrations, and field activities;
  • Supervising biogas capture and treatment operations remotely, in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders;

  • Coordinating the work of subcontractors, specialized contractors, and analytical laboratories;
  • Managing or contributing to the procurement of materials, equipment, and instruments required for project execution;
  • Maintaining smooth, professional, and effective communication among internal teams, clients, partners, subcontractors, and authorities;
  • Implementing, monitoring, and enforcing applicable occupational health and safety measures;
  • Coordinating inspections and ensuring the proper execution of site activities;
  • Contributing to the preparation of service proposals, technical proposals, and budget estimates;
  • Actively participating in internal strategic meetings and project coordination meetings;
  • Representing the company before clients, partners, subcontractors, and authorities during site visits, technical meetings, or project follow-ups;
  • Performing all other tasks compatible with your role.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, including environmental science, geology, engineering, applied sciences, or any related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental work, ideally in biogas, environmental management, site characterization, environmental monitoring, or geoenvironmental projects;
  • Good understanding of applicable environmental laws, regulations, standards, and requirements;
  • Strong ability to analyze environmental data, synthesize findings, and formulate clear and rigorous technical recommendations;
  • Excellent technical writing, analytical, synthesis, and scientific communication skills;
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to liaise effectively with clients, partners, subcontractors, laboratories, and regulatory authorities;
  • Excellent command of French, the working language;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English (an asset);
  • ASP Construction certification card (an asset).
