Our client, a manufacturing company specializing in the production of parts for the automotive industry, with customers across North America, Europe, and Asia, is currently seeking a Project Engineer for its state-of-the-art facility.

Nature of position

Reporting to the Engineering Coordinator, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and optimization of mechanical systems. You will also oversee the complete technical management of projects and act as a subject-matter expert on complex matters requiring in-depth analysis and multidisciplinary coordination. Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing the changes and modifications required to maintain and improve production equipment;
• Testing new equipment concepts, tooling, and prototypes;
• Providing technical support to various departments within the plant;
• Conducting studies and analyzing and interpreting data to diagnose issues with existing production equipment;
• Liaising with external equipment, process, and product suppliers to improve productivity (occasional travel required);
• Participating in continuous improvement projects;
• Designing and validating 3D and 2D drawings using SolidWorks;
• Performing any other duties consistent with the position.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline;
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience;
• Experience in the manufacturing sector;
• Good knowledge of SolidWorks (an asset);
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or in the process of becoming a member (CEP);
• Proficiency in spoken and written French, with intermediate English skills to collaborate with various English-speaking stakeholders.
