Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor

Our client, a major processing company operating in the pulp and paper industry, is currently seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor for its plant located in the Quebec City region.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Instrumentation, Electrical and Engineering, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing activities related to the plant's electrical and instrumentation systems. You will play a key role in equipment reliability, operational safety, and overall facility performance. In this role, you will:

  • Supervise and prioritize maintenance work in your area of responsibility;
  • Supervise the human resources assigned to you by engaging your employees to contribute optimally to plant objectives;
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations;
  • Apply the provisions of the collective agreement, letters of understanding, procedures, and plant policies;
  • Assign work orders, verify understanding of the tasks to be performed, ensure quality of execution, and proper documentation of interventions;
  • Mobilize your team in the implementation and optimization of preventive maintenance programs;
  • Participate in weekly work planning, including sectoral or major shutdowns, to optimize the use of internal and external labor;
  • Perform any other duties compatible with your role.

Required qualification

  • College diploma (DEC) in industrial electronics, electrical engineering, or any other relevant field;
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and effective team management in a unionized environment;
  • Excellent leadership, motivation, and communication skills;
  • In addition to being committed to client satisfaction, you are proactive and have a strong team spirit;
  • Methodical and results-oriented;
  • Good command of common computer tools and a functional level of English (to communicate with suppliers and other stakeholders).
