Service Technician

Service Technician

Our client, a manufacturing company well established in the Montreal region, specializing in the design, manufacturing, and sale of state-of-the-art automated equipment, primarily serving a North American clientele, is currently seeking a Service Technician.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Technical Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at client sites or in the workshop. In addition, you will ensure high-quality service while adhering to safety standards and company guidelines. In this role, you will:

  • Install and commission equipment at client sites;
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machines;
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic failures;
  • Repair or replace defective parts;
  • Write detailed service reports;
  • Train clients on the use and maintenance of equipment;
  • Provide professional and efficient customer service;
  • Collaborate with the technical team and parts department;
  • Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming is an asset;
  • Perform any other related duties compatible with your role.

Required qualification

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or a Vocational Studies Diploma (DEP) in electromechanics of automated systems, industrial mechanics, or other relevant training;
  • Relevant experience in maintenance or technical service;
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, and hydraulics;
  • Ability to read plans and technical diagrams;
  • Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) to work with clients in Canada and the U.S.;
  • Hold or be able to obtain a valid driver's license and passport;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness, and organizational skills.
