Technician, Asset Information and Innovation Directorate
Our client, a company whose mission is to manage, operate, and maintain various transportation infrastructures, with activities spanning engineering, construction, and maintenance operations, is currently seeking a Technician, Asset Information and Innovation Directorate, to continue improving the quality and efficiency of its services.
Nature of position
Reporting to the Director, Asset Information and Innovation, you will support the implementation of the organization's asset information management strategy. In the context of a digital transformation, you will actively participate in analyzing scenarios to integrate asset information into existing and future tools. You will work closely with various internal stakeholders to propose and implement processes and workflows related to the asset information management system. You will also support change management and communicate with management when technical issues are identified regarding the implementation of asset information management plans. In this role, you will:
- Provide technical expertise to implement the organization's asset information management strategy, supported by several technological tools already in place, initially focusing on Autodesk REVIT tools;
- Provide technical expertise on the Maximo computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and subsequently supporting the geographic information system (GIS), electronic document management system (EDMS), and other future tools, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and reporting and modeling tools;
- In collaboration with internal business partners as well as the Information Resources, Process Support and Continuous Improvement departments, and the Director, Programs and Digital Evolution, act as a super-user in REVIT and MAXIMO, propose and implement processes and workflows related to the asset information management system, and submit them ;
- In collaboration with the Senior IAI Engineer and the Information Resources department, review various technological solutions for asset information management, participate in scenario analysis to integrate asset information into existing tools and perform testing during the development of new solutions;
- Support change management by applying asset information management plans (particularly established processes and workflows), promoting, training, and supporting users of technological tools for the implementation of these plans, and resolving issues encountered;
- In collaboration with the Information Resources team, provide technical expertise to verify the quality, integrity, and compliance of data entered into asset information management systems;
- Monitor and control data (internal process audits) to ensure that data management is carried out in accordance with the physical asset inventory management process (under development) as well as asset information management plans (AIMP);
- Ensure that asset-related data is entered and maintained in corporate technological solutions and, based on analysis, take required actions when discrepancies are identified with respect to the asset information management plan;
- Provide support and communicate with management when technical issues are identified regarding the implementation of asset information management plans and propose appropriate corrective measures;
- Collaborate with external consultants to develop and implement the digitization of the physical asset inventory and asset information management plans;
- Provide advisory support in developing best strategies related to asset information management, working collaboratively and cross-functionally with the Diagnostics and Planning, as well as Operations and Maintenance departments, to maximize the use of corporate tools and asset data.
Required qualification
- College diploma (DEC) in civil engineering, building and asset data modeling (REVIT), and MAXIMO (CMMS) in architecture, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, ideally in geomatics;
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience;
- Proficiency in the Autodesk suite (REVIT) or other 3D modeling tools and MAXIMO (CMMS);
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for computer-aided design (CAD);
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook);
- Strong ability to understand and interpret technical plans and drawings;
- Demonstrated skills in writing documents and reports;
- Knowledge of ArcGIS geographic information systems, geomatics data modeling processes, and generative AI tools such as Copilot and prompt engineering will be considered an asset.
