Engineer, Temporary Structures Design and Construction Solutions

Our client is a Quebec-based company specializing in structural engineering and solutions for temporary works in the construction sector. It offers integrated services combining design, supply, and technical support. The company stands out for its turnkey approach and field expertise, enabling it to effectively support contractors in the safe and optimal execution of their projects. Currently, our client is seeking, in order to continue its growth, an Engineer specializing in temporary structures design and construction solutions.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, your main mandate will be to design temporary structures (shoring, formwork, scaffolding, bracing), as well as participate in the development of work procedures (demolition, bridge lifting), in addition to designing specialized equipment and carrying out various engineering mandates related to the construction sector. In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and understand client needs (construction contractors);
  • Design engineering solutions and approve them in collaboration with the rest of the team;
  • Prepare calculation notes and maintain documentation;
  • Design and develop, in collaboration with the technical team, plans and work procedures;
  • Carry out occasional site visits to provide support to clients and issue compliance attestations when required, all in a spirit of collaboration;
  • Collaborate with the entire technical team;
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or eligible to become one (CPI);
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written (English is an asset);
  • Hold an ASP Construction card.
