Project Manager (Aerospace Equipment)
Our client, a company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and commissioning of facilities and equipment for the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Project Manager.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Project Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in project planning and control to ensure budgets and timelines are met, as well as in developing client relationships. You will act as the conductor of a multidisciplinary team by managing workload to ensure schedules and client requirements are fulfilled. Through your daily involvement, you will act as a change agent and facilitator within project teams in a continuous improvement environment. In this role, you will:
- Manage projects on a daily basis from design through to client acceptance, including task assignment and follow-ups with clients and teams;
- Coordinate all project disciplines and oversee full interdisciplinary coordination;
- Coordinate the preparation and lead various internal and external progress reviews;
- Manage communications with clients within the parameters of contracts;
- Initiate the billing process at all stages of the project;
- Plan, organize, and follow up on on-site installations at the client's location;
- Understand and apply the quality management system;
- Propose improvements to the quality system and products;
- Develop strategies and objectives to maximize contract and project profitability;
- Work closely with technical directors and production supervisors to establish priorities in order to meet project deadlines;
- Direct client change requests to the sales team, and ensure that all approved changes are integrated and communicated;
- Make budget adjustments and communicate them to technical teams;
- Identify and manage project risks as well as mitigation plans;
- Monitor performance indicators (KPIs) and action plans to ensure performance in accordance with specifications;
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.
Required qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automated Production Engineering, or other relevant engineering field;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
- Strong natural interpersonal and communication skills;
- Experience in delivering manufacturing projects;
- Strong command of project management methodologies;
- High sense of responsibility and ability to prioritize tasks;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Project;
- Willingness to travel to participate in design reviews;
- Advanced spoken and written English due to a high volume of international clients;
- PMP certification and/or a master's degree in project management (an asset).
