Our client, a consulting firm offering services in soil and materials engineering, monitoring, quality control (soils, aggregates, concrete, coatings) and more, is currently looking for an engineer (e) in geotechnics.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the company's management, your mandate will be to direct and carry out various technical studies related to geotechnics. As such you will see to:
- Prepare geotechnical reports for a variety of projects (commercial, industrial or residential developments, transportation, industrial resources, public utilities, building foundations, slope stability analysis, geotechnical expertise);
- Evaluate customer needs in order to prepare geotechnical service offers by working closely with company management;
- Ensure compliance with established budgets and deadlines for a portfolio of several projects;
- Plan and carry out monitoring of the execution of geotechnical studies (drilling, sampling, in-situ and laboratory tests, etc.);
- Ensure effective communication with its clients on the progress of the work;
- Ensure administrative follow-up of its files;
- Supervise the work of the testing laboratory and endorse the results obtained;
- Supervise technicians or site professionals;
- Perform all other tasks compatible with your duties.
Required qualification
- Bachelor degree in civil engineering or geological engineering;
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in carrying out geotechnical investigation studies;
- Member of the l’Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ;
- Hold a valid driving license and an ASP construction card;
- Knowledge of different software (Chaussee 2, Géo Studio, Géotec, Word, Excel, etc.);
- Very good written and spoken French;
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage time well.
