Engineer, Special Projects Division

Our client, a company whose mission is to manage, operate, and maintain various transportation infrastructures, with activities spanning engineering, construction, and maintenance operations, is currently seeking an Engineer, Special Projects Division, in order to continue improving the quality and efficiency of its services.

Nature of position

Reporting to the Director, Special Projects, you will be called upon to meet occasional needs for each department assigning resources to the integration project following the establishment of an implementation schedule for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Without limitation and in summary, your responsibilities may include the following tasks:

  • Ensure a strong understanding of the infrastructure by conducting site visits, asset inspections, and reviewing available documentation;
  • In collaboration with internal stakeholders and the Engineer Responsible for Structures (ERS), manage and carry out professional service contracts related to asset management;
  • Define professional services, deliverables, applicable standards, and prepare terms of reference for professional service contracts in asset management;
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables, analyze reports, and recommend actions;
  • Ensure communication and coordination of cross-functional activities and mandates associated with the EDD and IAI departments, according to organizational priorities.
  • Support other departments on all matters related to environmental assessment;
  • Assist other divisions in implementing the sustainable development strategy;
  • Participate in the development of procedures and protocols and support internal teams on environmental compliance matters;
  • Participate in the assessment of environmental risks and in the development of control and monitoring measures;
  • Contribute to maintaining relevant performance indicators;
  • Assist the EDD division in preparing budgets, reports, and periodic progress indicator dashboards;
  • Participate in and lead activities and/or projects related to sustainable development;
  • Support teams in managing relationships with stakeholders;
  • Support the development of the asset management system;
  • Support the implementation of the Corporation's asset information management strategy;
  • Support the implementation and development of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS);
  • Support change management, particularly regarding the implementation of asset information management plans;

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years of experience;
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Demonstrate a strong cross-functional understanding of engineering practice;
  • Practical knowledge of the following software: MS Project, Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French, and intermediate-level English to meet the needs of English-speaking collaborators;
  • Experience and/or knowledge in the following areas: environment, sustainable development, asset management, asset information and digitization systems (an asset);
  • Knowledge of standard structural design and analysis software (an asset).
