Our client, a major processing company operating in the pulp and paper industry, is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for its plant located in the Québec region.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the department superintendent, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising production operations in your sector, while ensuring compliance with performance, quality, health and safety, and environmental objectives, and maximizing productivity. In this role, you will:
- Manage daily production activities in your sector ( thermomechanical pulp);
- Supervise, guide, and support a team of operators and technicians;
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and take proactive action in case of risky situations;
- Optimize manufacturing processes to meet quality, productivity, and yield objectives;
- Coordinate interventions with maintenance, quality, and logistics departments;
- Participate in the analysis of unplanned shutdowns and propose corrective actions;
- Train employees on procedures, best practices, and plant standards;
- Produce production reports and monitor performance indicators;
- Perform any other duties consistent with your role.
Required qualification
- College diploma (DEC) in industrial engineering, chemical engineering, forest products processing, or other relevant training;
- Relevant supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally in pulp and paper or a related field;
- Strong, results-oriented, and collaborative leadership;
- Good knowledge of health and safety standards;
- Proficiency with computer tools (Office Suite, production management systems).
