Our client is currently seeking an Electronics Engineer / Electronics Designer.

Nature of position

Reporting to the Engineering Management team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of hardware and firmware systems integrated into educational solutions. You will be involved in printed circuit board (PCB) design, component selection, and will work closely with software development and instructional design teams to create innovative and accessible solutions for the educational institutions and industries served by the company. Your responsibilities will include:

• Design and prototype electronic devices that integrate into the company's portfolio of educational solutions for teaching electronics across various fields; Contribute to all stages of the development process (analysis, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance);
• Contribute to all stages of the development process (analysis, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance);
• Develop firmware for new products as well as maintain existing products;
• Design circuits using microcontrollers or programmable logic and create printed circuit boards (PCBs);
• Provide technical support to the production and customer service teams;
• Collaborate with product management, software development, instructional design, certification, and other specialized teams within the product development department;
• Stay current with emerging technologies to continuously enhance the company's educational solutions;
• Perform any other related duties within the scope of your responsibilities.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic design;
• Membership in the Order of Engineers (an asset);
• Strong knowledge of analog electronics, microcontroller programming (VHDL is an asset), C/C++, Linux, and PCB design;
• Strong command of French (spoken and written) and English (primarily written, for communication with international customers, suppliers, and colleagues);
• Strong commitment to code quality and software architecture and programming best practices.
